The Contractors Mechanical Plant Engineers (CMPE) Association was founded in 1957, the members having a common interest in the operation, ownership, maintenance, repair and improvement of the contracts plant and machinery. The objectives of the Association are to broaden the scope of knowledge of such plant and its application, by placing the corporate knowledge of members at the disposal of any section of the industry. The associations aim is to make a worthwhile contribution to the greater understanding, as well as the more effective and safer use of mechanical plant. It comprises of branches throughout the UK, regulated by a National Council, with individual branches enjoying considerable local autonomy within the general parameters of the Association. The National Officers are the motivating force behind the CMPE and are dedicated to the serving of members.
